There are lots of word search books out there, in a range of difficulties and they are a great activity for people able to do them. The problem is that as the person’s abilities decline they can become frustrated and may even lose interest in doing them. Our word search puzzles are specially designed to be appropriate for people with dementia. They are challenging, but simplified in that no words run from right to left, diagonally or bottom to top. The words are familiar and the letters are large and easy to read. There are three levels of difficulty allowing you to find the puzzles that the person can do on their own, changing the level as the person’s abilities change. At each level there are two puzzles from the topics Plants, Fish, Farm and Birds (see our other Word Search puzzles for additional topics). The included instructions describe ways to help people complete the puzzles on their own if they are having difficulties. The set includes 24 puzzles (8 at each of the three levels) and a wet erase marker so that the laminated puzzles can be wiped clean and re-used.
